It's been a week since I've written in my journal. I guess it's about time to update you...

I saw a great new Broadway show this week. It's called [title of show]. It's about the process of writing a new show. It's so funny! It's played at the New York Music Theatre Festival, and then Off-Broadway for a while, and now it's moved to Broadway. The 2 writers star in the show, with 2 other hilarious girls rounding out the cast. I really really enjoyed it! It's funny, touching, heart-warming. If you get the chance, definitely go see this show!

I also had one audition this past week. I went to the singer's call for THE LITTLE MERMAID. I don't usually go to singer calls, but I wanted to try it out. I'm working on my singing and want to become more comfortable with my vocals, so I figured singing calls are a great place to start. I thought it went pretty well. I sang "Proud of Your Boy" which is one of my very favorite songs to sing, so at least I got the chance to sing it, even if nothing comes from the audition.

I'm enjoying the summer here in the city. It's disappointing that I don't have any summer work, but at least I have my great new apartment (with A/C) to enjoy! :o)

I hope everybody had a great Fourth of July yesterday! I had a great time! We had a bunch of friends over to the apartment starting at 3:00 and partied the afternoon away. Billy made some amazing food and we had 2 blenders going. Then once it was dark, we all went up to the roof and had the greatest view of the fireworks. Not only did we get to see the Macy's fireworks display against the NYC skyline, but there were other fireworks going off all around us. It was a 360 degree firework show. So cool! I want to thank everybody who came and celebrated with us. I had a wonderful time!

Last week, I had the opportunity to go home to Maryland to teach at my old studio's summer camp. I taught a day-long theatre dance class and set "Marion the Librarian" from THE MUSIC MAN. It was fun to teach again and see everybody. And a trip to the Red Roost (my favorite crab place) made the trip all the better! :o)

There are virtually no auditions going on right now in the city. So I'm keeping busy on my computer. I'm almost finished with a complete overhaul of the OCU Dance website. I designed their first website while I was still in college. And now, seven or eight years later, I'm glad to have the chance to give it new life. I'm happy with how it's turning out and hope that the dance school likes it too!
